Course terms

These terms apply to My Italian course, the online course on thuisitaliaans.com. The course is offered by Thuis Italiaans, Alessio's sole proprietorship registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KVK 42118745, VAT NL005508294B90), info@thuisitaliaans.com. By using the course or buying the subscription you accept these terms.
What it includes
The first half of the A1 course is free, with no sign-up. The subscription opens the whole course, from A1 to C2: the chapters in order, the tests, the reviews and the printable PDF sheets, for the whole year you paid for. The grammar pages and exercises on the site stay free: with the subscription you pay for the order, the tools and your saved progress.
The course is a tool for studying on your own: it does not include lessons with a teacher or personal correction of your writing.
Your account
To save your progress you need an account, with your email or with Google. The account is personal: do not share it and do not give your sign-in to anyone. You can delete it whenever you like from your profile.
Price and payment
The subscription costs 39 euros a year, VAT included. Payment goes through Lemon Squeezy, which sells the course on my behalf as reseller (merchant of record): that is why your receipt and bank statement show Lemon Squeezy. The purchase is also covered by Lemon Squeezy's buyer terms.
Alternatively you can buy lifetime access: 79 euros once, VAT included. It opens the whole course with no end date and does not renew.
The course's PDF worksheets can also be bought on their own, without the course: 9 euros once, VAT included. You download them from the link in your Lemon Squeezy receipt, and the same personal licence applies.
The PDFs of the 43 Italiano in pratica guides, in English, can also be bought on their own, without the course: 9 euros once, VAT included, with the same personal licence. They are included in the full course.
The price may change for later years. If it does, I will write to you at least 30 days before the renewal, so you can decide whether to cancel.
Renewal and cancellation
The subscription renews by itself every year, on the same date, until you cancel it. You can cancel whenever you like from your profile, with "Manage subscription", or from the link in your receipt. After you cancel, the course stays open until the end of the year already paid for, and then it no longer renews. Lifetime access does not renew: there is nothing to cancel.
Right of withdrawal
The course is digital content that opens right after payment. As Lemon Squeezy's buyer terms provide, when the course opens you agree that delivery starts immediately, and you lose the 14-day right of withdrawal for distance purchases. For this reason there are no refunds for a year that has started. If the course does not open because of a technical problem I cannot fix, you are entitled to a refund. The same applies to lifetime access.
Use of the content
You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use the course and study. You may not resell, publish or share the content, including the PDF sheets downloaded from the course, or use it to train artificial intelligence models. The sheets and PDFs, including the free ones, are for personal use: they may not be shared, published, resold or used to teach others without a written agreement with me.
The forum
The course has a forum where learners publish posts in Italian. Reading it is free; writing, replying, editing your own posts and liking posts are part of the full course. You take part from age 18, with a username. Posts must not contain contact details, links, advertising or offensive content: reported posts can be suspended or removed, and anyone who breaks these rules can be excluded from the forum. Everyone remains responsible for what they write.
Availability and changes
I do my best to keep the course always reachable, but there may be interruptions for maintenance or failures. The course grows: chapters and exercises may change, improve or move. If one day I had to close the course, I will tell you at least 30 days in advance and refund the part of the year you have not used. With lifetime access, "lifetime" means for as long as the course exists: if I ever had to close it, I will tell you at least six months in advance, so you have time to finish and to download the PDF worksheets.
Liability
The course helps you learn Italian, but it does not guarantee that you pass an exam, for example the B1 for citizenship. Within the limits of the law I am not liable for indirect damage. Your rights as a consumer under the law are not affected.

Changes, complaints and applicable law
I may update these terms. I will email you about important changes before they apply. For a question or a complaint write to info@thuisitaliaans.com: I reply within 24 hours on working days. Dutch law applies, without prejudice to the rights the law of your country of residence gives you.
