Roughly what a lesson costs

One-to-one lessons start at €40 per hour. If you learn as a pair, the per-person rate is lower. Business Italian and tracks built on specific request — your own professional vocabulary, documents, or a fixed deadline — start at €50 per hour. For small groups I put together a tailored proposal depending on the number of participants and the frequency. Online is lower than in person, since there's no travel involved.

Why there's no price list

Because a price list implies something untrue: that a lesson is the same for everybody. An hour of conversation with an advanced learner and a 45-minute children's lesson at someone's home are not the same work. I set the rate around your situation — how often you come, whether you learn alone or as a pair, in person or online, and what you can comfortably carry.

What shapes the rate

Four things: frequency, group size, in person versus online, and lesson length. Online is lower than in person because there's no travel; learning more often costs less per lesson than occasional sessions.

What's always included

Lesson materials, a short writing task between lessons with corrections, and access to everything that's free on this site: over 700 exercises, the blog and the graded readers.

Frequently asked questions

Can I afford this?

Just tell me honestly what works for you. I teach learners on very different budgets and in practice we almost always find a way — less frequent lessons, shorter lessons, or learning as a pair.

Does the first lesson cost anything?

No. The introduction is free and without obligation: we establish your level, your goal, and whether we get along.

Am I tied to anything?

No. No subscription, no minimum number of lessons, no notice period.

Do I get an invoice?

Yes, with a KVK number. Useful if your employer is contributing.
