The classic 10

  1. "Sono caldo" for "I'm hot": this means "I'm horny". Say ho caldo.
  2. Getting the auxiliary wrong: ho andato should be sono andato. Movement verbs take essere.
  3. Forgetting gender agreement: la casa è bello →︎ la casa è bella.
  4. "Attualmente" means currently, not actually. Actually = in realtà.
  5. "Simpatico" means friendly, not sympathetic. Sympathetic = comprensivo.
  6. Direct translations of "how many years": quanti anni hai? not come vecchio sei?
  7. Using "molto" as an adjective: molte ragazze, not molto ragazze.
  8. "Come" as a question word: means how, not what. What = che cosa.
  9. Forgetting the article with body parts: mi lavo i denti, not mi lavo miei denti.
  10. "Voglio" as a request: use vorrei in shops and cafés. Voglio sounds demanding.
