Permesso di soggiorno: residence permit
Rinnovo: renewal / Prima emissione: first issue
Questura: police headquarters (where you go for immigration matters)
Prefettura: the office for citizenship files
Ufficio immigrazione: immigration office
Modulo: form / Kit postale: the pre-printed forms envelope from the post office
Marca da bollo: tax stamp (from tobacco shops: tabacchi)
Ricevuta: receipt (proof that you've applied: legally valid while you wait)
Appuntamento: appointment
Convocazione: official summons for your appointment
Fotosegnalamento: fingerprinting session at Questura

Ho un appuntamento alle 9 per il rinnovo.: I have a 9 o'clock appointment for the renewal.
Devo consegnare i documenti.: I need to submit the documents.
